About Us
Not a Building — a Jewish Home
Mammoth is a world-class mountain town — and thousands of Jews come through it every year to ski, board, hike and fish. What was missing was a place to be Jewish while you're here: a Shabbos meal, a minyan, a mezuzah, someone to talk Torah with. That's what we are.
Rabbi Zalman and Yasmin Notik opened their home so that no Jew in the Eastern Sierra — resident or visitor — is ever without one. Friday night candles, homemade challah, holiday celebrations, Torah classes, kosher food, Hebrew school for the kids. Come once and you have a seat here forever.

Friday night dinner with candles, kiddush, homemade challah and singing — on set weekends we announce in advance. No charge; a suggested donation of $72 per person keeps the table set.

Zalman and Yasmin came to Mammoth to do one thing: make sure every Jew who sets foot in these mountains has a home here. Their door opens for Shabbat dinners and holiday celebrations, their kitchen turns out challah and kosher meals, and their table has hosted hundreds of guests — skiers, seasonal workers, honeymooners, families, and Jews who walked in strangers and left family.
